How to add shipping rules?

Shipping rules are an important cost to understand when it comes to calculating your contribution.

Finzite features the use of both manual shipping rules and automated/integrated shipping rules.

Currently the automated shipping rule integrations are:

  • BobGo (South Africa)

Step 1: Set up a default shipping rule

  • At the very top of the screen is the default shipping cost. Which is used when no other conditions are met.
  • This is a great way to capture an average shipping cost so that orders without category level shipping rules or direct integrations so that orders without category-level shipping rules or a direct integration still have a shipping cost applied.
  • The value must be in the default currency of your store.

Step 2: Add the categories for itemised (weight/volume) based shipping cost

  • On the COGS Setup page you can put your products into categories.
  • These categories are always used before the default shipping rules are applied to an order level
  • The system will allocate the category shipping cost to the item per item. (For example if a shirt is in a category shirt. The cost is set to R10 and a customer orders 2 shirts then the shipping cost will be R20)

Step 3:  Integrate with a shipping aggregator

  • Finzite has direct shipping aggregators integration. The system automatically links the shipping fulfilment cost from the aggregator with the orders from Shopify. This results in actual cost (not averages) being applied to each order.
  • To integrate with a shipping aggregator navigate to this page: How to connect BobGo?
